Police Scotland is appealing for information after an eight-year-old girl was punched in an unprovoked attack.
The incident happened on Glencairn Road, Dumfries, at about 5.50pm yesterday, Monday, 5 May.
Two youths pushed and punched the child as she walked down the street. They ran towards Terregles Road after the attack.
The girl was not seriously injured.
The male youths are described to be in their teens. One had blond spiky hair and was wearing a white T-shirt with a skull design on it. The other had darker hair and was wearing a blue hooded top.
