Four-year-old girl hit by car in Annan

Police are appealing for information after a four-year-old girl was hit by a car that mounted the pavement.

It is thought the driver may have being trying to avoid traffic on the other side of the road.

The incident happened on Bank Street in Annan at about 4pm on Friday, 2 May.

The girl didn't need to go to hospital but was treated by ambulance staff for arm and shoulder injuries.

Her mother had chased after the car and spoken to the driver, who drove away without replying.

The driver of a silver/ blue Volvo is described to be in his late 50's, with dark hair and glasses. He was said to be well dressed, possibly wearing a suit.
