A giant poppy measuring 150 meters by 175 meters has been planted in the Lake District to mark the anniversary of the First World War.

The Lakeland Maize Maze, at Sedgwick near Kendal in Cumbria, has made the poppy emblem its design for 2014.

The attraction was the Maize Maze of the Year in both 2011 and 2013 and expects over 18,000 visitors to walk through its poppy design this year when it opens on Saturday, 19 July.
