Rhoda Sharkey was at work in her son's corner shop in Egremont when a man came in and demanded money.
She received a bravery award at a ceremony yesterday, along with a new mop, for her efforts in fending off the intruder, who was later jailed.
At the end of the video, you can see her reach for the mop.
