The man killed in a two-car crash in Beattock has been named as 51-year-old Michael Anderson from Dalbeattie.
He was pronounced dead at the scene after the collision on the A701 road near to Cragielands House.
The driver of the second car, a 33 year old man from Glasgow, remains in Dumfries and Galloway Royal Infirmary with serious leg and arm injuries.
