Police are appealing for witnesses after a mother, driving with her three children, was forced to take "serious evasive action" to avoid an overtaking lorry.
The incident happened on the A711 at the end of the Long Wood, Lochanhead, Dumfries at around 3:20pm on Saturday.
The woman was driving towards Kirkgunzeon in her blue Volvo estate car with her three young children when she was confronted by a west bound articulated lorry overtaking a tractor.
Police say if she hadn't taken evasive action, a collision would have been likely.
They are asking any witnesses to contact Police Scotland on 101.
