64-year-old man knocked to the ground in Dumfries

A 64-year-old has been assaulted and knocked to the ground on The Whitesands in Dumfries.

It happened yesterday (25th July) at 13.20. He was not injured in the attack but Police Scotland is appealing for witnesses to come forward.

"It appears that the victim was attacked by a man who was in a group of four people, three males and a female. Whilst he was not injured in this attack he was extremely shaken and we would like to hear from anyone who saw this incident. Witnesses can call using the 101 number.

There are no descriptions of those in the group or of the attacker at this stage."
