14-year-old boy arrested in connection to Whitehaven bomb scare

A teenager has been arrested in connection with a bomb scare incident at Morrisons in Whitehaven.

An evacuation was done by store management yesterday, Monday 10 July, following an anonymous caller telling police that there was a bomb in the store.

The store was searched by specially trained officer, but no suspicious items were found.

Police have arrested a 14-year-old boy, from Whitehaven, following enquiries conducted as part of a malicious communications investigation.
