Members of the public are invited to a free performance of Macbeth at the Workington Hall park.

Organised by Workington Town Council and performed by theatre company Oddsocks, the play will be a comedic take on the Shakespearean tragedy.

It will be taking place on Friday 1st September and is described by Oddsocks’s artistic director and performer, Andy Barrow, as “Shakespeare for today. Seriously silly Shakespeare!”

Oddsocks is a theatrical experience for everyone. As actors, we’re putting on a party and everyone is invited. It's theatre that’s highly energetic, full of life and plenty of laughs! It’s Shakespeare, but not as you know it!”

– Andy Barrow, Macbeth performer and Oddsocks Artistic Director

Attendees can also take part in archery, which will be running all afternoon, and in tours by local performing arts company Trellis Arts from 2pm, ahead of the performance.
