Officers search for driver involved in Ulverston collision

Officers are continuing to search for a driver involved in a collision in Ulverston yesterday afternoon, 26 July. The collision happened near the A5087 at the junction of Park Road and Priory Road.

The collision involved a black VW Polo and a male cyclist. The male cyclist, a 24-year-old man from Ulverston, was taken to the Royal Preston Hospital via air ambulance. He remains in a critical condition this morning and his family remain with him, and they are being supported by specially trained officers.

Police were actively looking for the vehicle at the time of the collision. The vehicle has since been located by police.

The male driver involved in the Lancashire incidents is described as 5ft 10 inches, with dark blonde hair, of stocky build, wearing jeans and a white-coloured t-shirt.

The driver involved in this collision is not believed to live locally, and we continue to make every effort today to trace him. We would urge him to contact the police immediately. We continue to ask that anyone who believes they know the whereabouts of this man contacts police immediately and does not make any attempt to approach him themselves.”
