The M6 is now open following two separate collisions that happened earlier today.

All three lanes were completely closed after a lorry hit the central reservation south of junction 42.

A second incident involved a van pulling a trailer which jack-knifed when braking.

At one point the tailbacks stretched for around two miles towards Southwaite services.

The drivers of both the lorry and the van were not injured.
