The first meeting of a new working group for Hawick's flood protection scheme is due to take place later this month.

Scottish Borders Council is forming two groups to look at traffic management and the impact of the £44million scheme on the townscape.

The groups will give residents the chance to have their say as the detailed designs are drawn up. Previously, plans for the scheme received almost 50 objections from residents.
