Traffic restrictions will be in force in Dumfries this Saturday, 16 June, for the annual Guid Nychburris parade.

Police say all town centre roads will be closed from 4:30pm, ahead of the start of the parade at 5pm.

The closures will remain in place until around 8pm, and the A75 Dumfries bypass is expected to be busier as a result.

The festival began in 1932. It includes the crowning of the Queen of the South, and culminates in the Riding of the Marches on the third Saturday of June.
