Four Remploy factories to close

The country's biggest employer of disabled people has announced it will close more than half its factories. Despite workers staging protests throughout last year, Remploy factories in Leeds, Pontefract, Worksop and Chesterfield are among 36 of the 54 premises which will close.

The decision to sack 1752 people in 36 Remploy factories across the country is one of the worst decisions that this discredited coalition government has taken since coming to office.
