The six soldiers killed in Afghanistan two weeks ago will be repatriated to the UK today.

The bodies of the soldiers, five from the third battalion the Yorkshire regiment, and one from the first battalion the Duke of Lancaster's regiment, will be flown into RAF Brize Norton around lunchtime.

After a private ceremony for the families of the dead, the cortège will process through the village of Carterton to the town's memorial garden.

The six soldiers died when their vehicle was caught in an explosion in Helmand Province.
