Bradford Bulls: deadline day

Fundraising efforts Photo: Calendar news

Bradford Bulls are rapidly counting down to decision time.

The Super League club needs to raise £500,000 by 5:00 tonight in order to avoid administration, and a million pounds in total.

Fundraising efforts have been furious; £300,000 has already been pledged and an auction took place at Odsal last night.

The Bulls were forced to appeal for financial help after their bank, RBS, put pressure on the club.

Members of Parliament yesterday joined the campaign. Greg Mulholland, MP for Leeds North West and Chairman of the Parliamentary Rugby League Group has expressed "great dismay" at the actions of the bank. He said that this

places the club in a dire position" and could "have huge ramifications forthe city of Bradford and rugby league generally".

The response from Bulls fans and fans from around the country has been amazing and the whole rugby league family is doing what it can to save the club.

The Bulls play Leeds Rhinos tonight and officials are expecting a crowd of over 20,000, many of whom they hope will pledge financial contributions.
