Bolshoi ballet for Barnsley dancer
Ballerina Tala Lee-Turton started dancing when she was four, and her teachers encouraged her early on to start applying for scholarships at dance schools.
She's only the ninth British dancer ever to win a place at the Bolshoi in Russia.
During a stint at a school in Bristol, she realised that the Russian style was for her. She describes it as
– Tala Lee-Turtonexpressive, free, dancey, it's different from the English style"
During the four year stay in Moscow she'll learn Russian, both to help her settle in the country and to continue the rest of her studies.
And her advice to those who want to follow in her footsteps?
– Tala Lee-TurtonYou get out what you put in. If you want it that much and you work hard enough for it, chances are you'll get there.
