Jobs for Hull

Nearly 800 jobs are going to be created in Hull as the Hawthorn Avenue area is going to be regenerated.

Hull City Council has been awarded £8m from the Regional Growth Fund and the area will see 1,475 new and refurbished eco-efficient homes.

Overall it will mean £135m of investment over the next 13 years.

It's disappointing that local residents have had to wait so long for this announcement, but better late than never.**

The funding is desperately needed to regeneration the Hawthorn Avenue area and create hundreds of local jobs over the next 13 years.**

We can now get on with the job and start to make the much needed improvements to the area that the residents and the city deserve.**
