It is part of their homecoming celebrations - which have seen them parade through Harrogate, Beverley, Leeds and York this week.

Today's parade will begin at 12 noon on Londesborough Street, taking them through to the Guildhall for a salute at the Amy Johnson statue.

The exact route is Londesborough Street, via Park Street, Spring Bank, Ferensway, Prospect Street, King Edward Street, Jameson Street, Queen's Dock Avenue, Alfred Gelder Street, Wilberforce Drive and ending at the Guildhall, Hanover Square.

The majority of the soldiers have family in Yorkshire and have recently returned to their base in Germany after a six-month operational tour in Afghanistan.

There will be 120 soldiers marching in total.
