Silsden boy chosen as Paralympic Flame Ambassador

Evan Whitton from Silsden in West Yorkshire, who has cerebral palsy, will represent the county in Trafalgar Square on Friday 24th August, when he takes part in a flame ceremony.

The Paralympic Flame will then travel by train to York where it will be split into five flames which will feature at Paralympic themed in events in York, Sheffield, Leeds, Beverley and Huddersfield.

Evan, has been in a wheelchair for most of his life but underwent a life changing operation in the US in 2010 which has enabled him to walk. And for the first time ever back in May- inspired by the forthcoming Paralympic games - Evan walked to school. Calendar's cameras were there to capture that moment.
