Possible teenager abduction attempt

Do you recognise this man? Photo:

An E-Fit image of a man has been released after a possible abduction attempt of a teenage girl.

The 16-year-old was walking alone in a rural area between Haxey and Westwoodside in North Lincolnshire on 9 August.

A dark green Ford hatchback that is thought to be left had drive pulled up alongside her, grabbed her by the arm and tried to pull her into the car after she refused a lift.

She managed to break free and the car drove away.

The suspect is described as being white, in his late 40s or early 50s with a tanned complexion, full dark coloured facial stubble and leathery skin. His hair is described as being dark, messy and spiky and long enough to cover most of his ears. He spoke with a South Yorkshire accent.

We are continuing to treat this as a serious incident and would like to remind females in particular to be vigilant when out walking alone. The last thing we want to do is cause concern for parents and local residents however this is a timely reminder of the dangers when walking along in quiet areas. I would ask for anyone who recognizes the man in the picture to come forward as we are keen to speak to him in connection with this incident
