Soldier's body flown home

The body of a South Yorkshire soldier killed in Afghanistan is being flown home.

Sergeant Lee Davidson of The Light Dragoons from Doncaster was killed on Sunday 9 September.

His Troop formed a Police Advisory Team as part of the Police Mentoring and Advisory Group. He died while on patrol with the Afghan Uniform Police in the Nahr-e Saraj district of Helmand province. The armoured vehicle he was in struck an Improvised Explosive Device.

He leaves behind his wife Samantha, who is pregnant with their third child, and two sons.

His body is due to be flown into RAF Brize Norton, where there will be a private ceremony.
