An investigation is taking place after an armed robbery in South Yorkshire.
A black Audi A5 is thought to have pulled into a field behind a house on Spring Lane, Sprotborough on Friday 7 September before two men wearing balaclavas entered the garden.
The family, including both parent and three children, were threatened as the men wielded knives and demanded money.
It is then thought they left the house with money before making off towards Long Lane.
The Audi is believed to have sped away along Spring Lane.
It is understood the two men were picked up by a white Ford Transit van.
Police believe the black Audi A5, which has distinctively small alloy wheels, was stolen from Rotherham last mont and may have been used since in the Barnsley and Doncaster areas.
– Detective Inspector Richard Partridge, South Yorkshire Police
This was a very serious crime that targeted a family residence during daylight hours. The threats of violence in the presence of young children and the possession of weapons is a great cause for concern. We would like to encourage anyone with information about the vehicles to come forward to assist with our investigation.
