New charity to help sick children in Bradford

Bradford Hospitals have launched a new charity which aims to raise money to buy home comforts and state of the art medical equipment for the city's sick children and their families during their treatment. All money raised from Bradford Hospitals Children's Charity will be spent across the Foundation Trust's three children's wards, its community teams, the St Luke's outpatients and Child Development Centre, as well as the Bradford Royal Infirmary neonatal unit.

While the NHS provides essential medical care and basic hospital accommodation for patients, resources often don't stretch to providing the extra bits of home comforts or cutting edge technology that costs over and above what our budgets can stretch to. Bradford Hospitals Children's Charity aims to make these additional pieces available so that hospital stays for babies and children are that little bit more comfortable and to ensure that the time spent in hospital goes more quickly and feels more relaxing for parents and carers."
