Network Rail has revealed its design for a new footbridge which could be built over one of the level crossings in the centre of Lincoln. The structure would be put over the tracks next to the University of Lincoln at Brayford Wharf East to reduce the risk of the crossing being misused.
Plans will be officially submitted in December and Lincolnshire County Council has yet to announce how it will reduce traffic on the road to single lane to accomodate the structure. Further plans are also still being drawn up to put a bridge over the crossing on nearby High Street.
Two days of public exhibitions are taking place on Friday 19 and Saturday 20 October to invite feedback from members of the public before the plans are submitted to Lincolnshire County Council. Anyone who wants to view the designs is invited to the Network Rail vehicle which will be parked at Brayford Wharf.
