Sheffield students take on charts with charity single

A group of students in Sheffield are hoping to top the charts with a new charity single in support of Bluebell Wood Children's Hospice.

Called ‘Stand Together,’ the song has been written and recorded by Sheffield Park Academy to raise much needed funds for its chosen charity, Bluebell Wood, for which the academy has already donated almost £2,000.

Written by music teacher Julian Rowe, ‘Stand Together’ features the vocal talents of former Sheffield Park student Sara Cheesman, supported by a choir of Year 7 and 8 students including Sara’s sister Ellie.

The school has a close relationship with Bluebell Wood and we wanted to do something different to help raise funds for the hospice, hence ‘Stand Together,’ which was actually written earlier this year and recorded by the students in their own time during the October half-term break.

This is a wonderful way to help raise funds for the hospice. We’re incredibly grateful to Sheffield Park Academy for all of its support and the enthusiasm and dedication of everyone involved in creating ‘Stand Together.
