Man questioned over girlfriend stabbing

Detectives in York are questioning a 28-year-old after his girlfriend was repeatedly stabbed.

She suffered a punctured lung in the attack on Friday. Michael Bennison was arrested in the Huntington area of the city on Sunday 16 December on suspicion of attempted murder. There had been a search across York to trace him following the attack.
