"Good samaritan" convicted of murder
A man, who claimed to be a good samaritan coming to the aid of a woman in Boston, has been convicted of murder.
38 year old Stephen Sleaford claimed he stabbed Janusz Smoderek in the chest after a brawl in the early hours of the morning.
Mr Smodereck died from stab wounds and was found in the garden of a house on Sleaford Road in September 2011.
It was alleged by the prosecution that Stephen Sleaford came to the aid of a drunken woman who was being sexually assaulted by Smodereck, but that Sleaford went on to kill him before then taking the young girl to safety.
During the trial, the jury heard from a scenes of crime officer who showed them extensive video footage which included a 108 metre trail of blood down the street.
