The Leeds United striker, Luciano Becchio, who has been the subject of two separate bids from foreign clubs during the January transfer window, has handed in a transfer request to the club.
Both bids have been rejected by United, but Becchio believes financially his interests are 'best served by a move away from Leeds' according to a club statement.
The club has been trying to agree a new deal with the striker, who is already the highest earning player at Elland Road, but it's understood the money he was asking for was more than United could support.
