The local Government Minister is visiting Hull today to announce a multi-million pound investment for a renewable energy factory in Hull.
Baroness Hanham is meeting bosses of Energy Works, a renewable energy facility planned for Cleveland Street. It will use household waste, and will generate enough energy for more than 25,000 homes.
The Baroness is expected to announce a multi-million pound grant from the European Regional Development Fund for the £100 million-plus scheme.
The Minister will also travel to the Marfleet Environmental Industries Park on Hedon Road, which has received £4.7 million from the same fund. This £13 million business park, hoping to attract environmental industries, has been developed by Warmsale Ltd on the site of the former Humbrol/Airfix manufacturing complex. The Minister will meet the businesses which have already moved in. When fully occupied the park could create up to 300 jobs.
