It is marked by Constantin Heger, the married teacher she was deeply in love with.

The society bought the item - which was previously unknown until Decemeber 2012 - for 50 thousand pounds.

Expert analysis of the handwriting confirmed its author was Charlotte Brontë.

The document, written on both sides, is composed in French and written on a topic assigned to Charlotte Brontë by Constantin Heger as part of her French lessons.
