Detectives are trying to trace a man after a man was headbutted several times at the Stone Roses bar in Leeds.
Officers from British Transport Police have released a picture of a man they would like to speak to in connection with the incident, which took place in the early hours of Sunday, 30 June, at the bar located under the railway arches on Lower Briggate.
– Detective Constable David Bentley
The victim, a 29-year-old man from Leeds, was attacked following a minor verbal altercation with a man in the bar.
The victim and his attacker had become involved in a minor disagreement. The victim walked away and went to the bar. When he returned, the victim was grabbed around the neck by the man and headbutted a number of times before falling to the floor.
As a result of the attack the victim has received significant injuries including a cut nose, two black eyes and a cut to the back of his head which required a number of stitches.
This was a violent and **vicious attack and behaviour like this will simply not be tolerated. BTP officers work closely with the bar’s supervisors and staff to enable revellers have an enjoyable night without fear of this kind of vicious attack.
I’d urge anyone who recognises the man featured in the CCTV image, or has any information about the attack, to come forward and assist police in this investigation.
