In a nutshell the festive period is looking very unsettled and indeed at times, very stormy.

A spell of rain Friday night and it'll be breezy but frost-free.

Sunny spells Saturday but with a shower risk. Saturday evening sees a short but heavy spell of rain and strong winds.

An odd shower but mainly dry Sunday but very wet and very windy weather expected Monday.

Christmas Eve will be brighter and mainly dry. A quiet, bright and cold Christmas day is expected but a shower cannot be ruled out.

A bright Boxing day will give way to a wet and windy spell up to New Year with gales likely.

As ever, keep up to date with the forecast here and on ITV Calendar.

All the best,

JON MITCHELL
