Cancer mum in race for life to see birth of first grandchild

A mother who found out she was dying from cancer on the same day that one of her daughters found out that she was pregnant is taking part in the Race for Life on Sunday.

Last Christmas Tina Drury from Dewsbury was told she has just months to live. She went home to break the awful news to her family but ended up in tears of joy when her daughter Lucy said she was expecting.

Now the birth of Lucy's little girl in July, Tina's first grandchild, is keeping her mum going, so much so that she's taking part in the race for life at Wakefield on Sunday.

Tina took part in the race at Thornes Park three years ago to celebrate being free of breast cancer. However, since then the cancer has returned.
