Meningitis: How to spot the signs

Meningitis B is most common in babies and children under five Credit: PA

Here is a list of the symptoms you should look for to find out if you or someone you know should be checked for meningitis:

  • A high temperature
  • Vomiting
  • Severe headache
  • A stiff neck, aching limbs and joints
  • A dislike of bright lights
  • Drowsiness
  • A rash which does not fade when pressed
  • In small babies, a refusal to feed and a high pitched cry.
