Sally Major from Silsden in West Yorkshire who has advanced bowel cancer is having immunotherapy, which is not available here on the NHS, at a private oncology clinic in Hallwang in Germany.

The mother of four says her cancer was diagnosed late and she should be entitled to the treatment known as ablation - where tumours are specifically targeted.

Sally's husband Liam set up a fundraising page for the £200,000 needed for the treatment.

He made an emotional plea on the page yesterday for help to raise the vital funds needed to save his wife's life.

"Sally's tumour markers have almost halved, liver function doubled, kidney function normal, usual bloods pretty normal and LDH (dead cell processing) went insane and has started to come back down, all signs that the treatment is definitely working."

Unfortunately this week has cost us €26,000, €15,000 more than anticipated and our money has finally ran out.

I am literally begging, I can't let my wife and amazing mum of my kids deteriorate, suffer and ultimately pass while knowing there's treatment available that works. It's criminal, devastating and unbelievable, almost barbaric."
