Man who died after car hits road sign and tree named

Police have released the name of a man who died in a collision in Keighley.

30-year-old Shaun Philip Howard from Keighley died from injuries he suffered when the blue Fiat Punto he was driving left the road in Laycock Lane and collided with a road sign and a tree.

He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Two other males in the car also suffered serious injuries.

One of these, a 23-year-old man, is currently in hospital where his condition is described as critical but stable.

Another male who was also in the car suffered minor injuries.

Sergeant Ann Drury, of the Major Collision Enquiry Team, said: "We are continuing to appeal for witnesses to this collision, which happened close to the junction with Braithwaite Road at about 11.12pm on Wednesday, 24 May.

Anyone who witnessed it or the movements of the vehicle prior to it is asked to contact the team on 101, quoting log 2137 of 24 May.
