Residents have been mopping up in York after flash-flooding this morning.
Worst hit was low-lying Fishergate, which was left under almost a foot of water as drains failed to cope with the cloudburst.
Staff at the Peasholm Centre who help resettle homeless people had to pump out the building.
The pub next door, The Mason's Arms, has also been cut off by surface flood water.
There has been traffic gridlock as police close the flooded road, which is one of the main routes into the city centre.
A gully cleaner has been brought in to clear the water.
