Man charged in connection to Sheffield murder investigation

A 21-year-old man has been charged with murder after the death of a man in the Firth Park area of Sheffield.

Khalid Mokadeh, 21, of The Oval, Sheffield, will appear at Sheffield Magistrates’ Court today (Tuesday 12 September) charged with murder and possession of an offensive weapon.

Mokadeh has been charged in connection to the death of a 31-year-old man who has now been named as Sami Khaled Saif Al-Sarsoori of Firth Park.

Mr Al-Sarsoori received stab wounds during the incident at around midnight on Sunday 10th September in the Wensley Estate area of Sheffield.

He was taken to hospital where he died a short time later. Mr Al-Sarsoori’s family has asked that their privacy be respected during this difficult time.

Enquiries are ongoing and DCI Steve Whittaker, who is leading the murder investigation, has appealed for anyone with information to come forward.
