A South Yorkshire police officer who was attacked on duty on Tuesday has been released from hospital this morning and is now recovering at home.
He was injured on a call out to a car crash in Hexthorpe.
22-year-old Dale Francis Cheetham appeared at Barnsley magistrates court this afternoon accused of several offences including grievous bodily harm against the officer and robbery.
He was remanded in custody to appear at crown court in Sheffield on October 19th.
A second man has also been charged with robbery and a woman arrested with them has been released.
