Barnsley singer prepares to go live on first X Factor studio weekend

Barnsley singer Holly Tandy is preparing to sing in the first live X Factor show of the series as one of the three acts chosen by mentor Sharon Osbourne in the 'girls' category of this year's competition.

The theme for this weekend is 'Express Yourself' and the 16 year old will perform a version of 'Hollow' by Tori Kelly.

In a change from previous years only two of the show's four categories of acts will perform on Saturday night. This week the girls will sing alongside the boys. The remaining two categories (the groups and the overs) will sing in Sunday's programme.

It will also be announced tonight whether 'Jack and Joel' from Gainsborough and Leeds have been chosen by the public as one of the four wildcard acts to also perform in the live stages of the competition. A vote took place earlier this week.

If they are successful in winning a place in the competition they are due to sing live on the show for the first time on Sunday evening.

The X Factor returns on ITV on Saturday evening at 8:20pm and Sunday evening at 7pm.
