Rail passengers are facing another day of disruption as members of the RMT union stage their latest strike in a row over driver-only operated trains.
Northern Rail says 65 per cent of its normal weekday timetable will operate between 7am and 7pm, but services are expected to be much busier than usual.
Replacement bus services are running on some routes , with rail tickets being accepted on some buses and other train services.
Today's walk-out is the latest over proposals by Northern to get rid of train guards.
The union says the move would put safety at risk – a claim the company denies.
The latest talks aimed at resolve the dispute last week broke down.
