Woman calls for safety barriers to be installed near Leeds river three years after father drowned

A woman from Leeds says more needs to be done to stop people from falling into open water, three years after her father drowned.

Kalist Musinga fell into the River Aire near Clarence Dock on a Christmas night out in 2014.

Underwater search teams scoured the area but didn't find anything.

Two months later, Mr Musinga's body was discovered in a lake off the river in Allerton Bywater - ten miles away.

His daughter Jackie wants metal railings to be installed in Leeds City Centre to prevent further tragedies.

Figures show 26 people have drowned in Leeds in the last five years, four of them with alcohol or drugs in their system.
