Police are appealing for the owner of a dog to come forward after a four-year-old girl was bitten on the face in Scunthorpe.
The incident involved a black and white Staffordshire bull terrier and happened at a house in Warley Road on New Year's Eve while the owner was not present.
Paramedics treated the girl for puncture wounds to her face, which required hospital treatment but are not life-threatening.
The dog had been removed from the house before emergency service workers arrived and police are now trying to track both the dog and owner down.
Anyone with information that may aid police should call 101 quoting log 430 of December 31 2017.
