Flytipping 'on an industrial scale' hits Peak District

The Environment Agency is investigating after tonnes of foul-smelling waste was dumped in a lay-by in one of our region's most most popular tourist spots.

Around 30 tonnes of it was found by the roadside in the Peak District - between Baslow and Bakewell - including what appears to be domestic and industrial waste.

There are fears that similar discoveries could be on the increase after China stopped taking in vast amounts of our recycled waste.
