Eight men have been sentenced to more than 30 years in prison after a man was run over and killed during a violent disturbance in Dewsbury.
Thirty-two-year-old Jonathan Binns suffered numerous injuries after he was deliberately run over by a car driven by Jaelen Herlt.
Khaleem Harris was his passenger. Both 20-year-olds were found guilty of manslaughter and violent disorder and each were sentenced to 13 years. Kamrren Harris, aged 18, was sentenced to 27 months for grievous bodily harm, violent disorder and possession of an offensive weapon.
Five other men, all aged between 17 and 21 were also jailed for violent disorder.
Jonathan's family thanked the local community for their support and courage coming forward as witnesses.
They said in a statement that the memory of Jonathan would 'live on as a happy time in our lives and we will spend every day ensuring that his young son will remember his father for the beautiful person that he was.'
