Liam Gallagher could be set to perform at the opening of Hull's new 3,500-capacity arena after bosses extended an invite to him via Twitter.
The former Oasis frontman responded to an online message from Hull Venue that was sparked by comments made by Gallagher's brother Noel who criticised the city during an onstage outburst in America.
He told fans who were chanting about Hull City FC that the best thing about the 2017 UK City of Culture is the Humber Bridge.
In response, Hull Venue invited Liam, asking if he fancies "showing Noel just how great a Hull audience is” by performing at their venue this summer.
Hull Venueis set to open later in the yearand will host music and conferences.
