Fire breaks out at South Yorkshire industrial unit

More than 40 firefighters and eight fire engines were called to tackle a blaze at an industrial unit in Dinnington earlier today.

Crews were called to the incident at Todwick Road around 5.20pm this afternoon.

South Yorkshire Police closed a section of Todwick Road while they worked to extinguish the fire.

A caution has been placed on the railway line near the premises, meaning there may be some delays to local rail services.

Residents living nearby have been advised to stay indoors and keep their windows and doors closed.

An investigation into the cause of the blaze will begin once the fire has been extinguished.
