Police in South Yorkshire say they are extending the use of extra stop-and-search powers in Sheffield in a bid to tackle the city's growing knife crime problem.
It follows the death of a 15-year-old boy - who was stabbed in Lowedges Road on Thursday. He was taken to hospital but later died.
The authority to perform extra searches was due to expire this morning Saturday May 26 - but the force says it is now being extended until tomorrow - meaning officers can stop people without having a reasonable suspicion.
One man has already charged with possession of an offensive weapon.
