The 15 year old girl was walking along Pearson Road when she noticed a maroon coloured car behind her. She realised something was wrong and ran onto Shaftsbury Court where two men got out of the car and attacked her stealing her handbag.

She suffered a head injury in the assault after being forced against a wall. She managed to break free after fighting back, and fled to the Ladyhill Park area where she was able to seek help.

The first suspect was described as Asian, aged 19-20 years old, 5ft 11 and slim with black curly permed hair and was wearing a blue Nike jumper and green North Face tracksuit bottoms and black shoes. The suspect was growing a stubble moustache and had long sideburns.

The second suspect was also Asian male, aged 18-19years old, 5ft 9 and was chubbier than the first at medium build. He was wearing a black cap.

A third male drove the car and was described as Asian and aged 16 to 17-year-old.

The attack took place on Monday May 28, 2018 at around 9.15pm.

We have a number of enquiries ongoing into what is being treated as an isolated, but clearly serious incident which must have been an extremely frightening experience for the victim.

She suffered several injuries in the incident, in which she showed real bravery in resisting her attackers.

We need to locate those responsible as soon as possible and I would ask anyone who can identify them or who may have seen what happened to contact us.

The suspect vehicle was described as a maroon hatchback with silver alloy wheels & tinted windows and I would ask anyone who saw this car in the Pearson Road or Shaftsbury Court areas just prior to or after the attack to also get in touch.
